This temple is assumed that it was built in the late Ayutthaya period around the year 1762, more than 230-year-old. This temple located near the ancient city in the Dvaravati period where the traces of an ancient moat appear on the north side of the temple. Therefore, it may indicate that in the past, Wat Phra Prang Yellow used to be a community and ancient civilization site. King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, had visited Wat Phra Prang Lueang altogether three times. It is a beautiful white stupa located on the bank of Chao Phraya River, about 29 meters high, located on a three-story high base.
